Panthro Resculpted (36mb)
thingiverse
Kudos to Mustang Dave for discovering this amazing bust, and of course to Adam Beamish who initially designed it. To enhance its features, I imported it into Blender (as ZBrush was causing frustration). I increased the mesh's subdivision level and resculpted lost details. As I plan a large-scale print without sanding hassles, the file size swelled significantly (36x) but boosted output quality impressively. I maintained the original mesh's excellence; only added spike liners on shoulders, defined muscles on front/back, and aimed for round, fluid shapes to avoid square edge prints. The Flashforge printer appreciates these shapes more than low-resolution rounded ones with fewer vertices. I understand that small, high-quality meshes are desirable, like Panthro's example, but there's also a demand for high-resolution models. After years of sanding prints, I prefer minimizing it by refining the model before printing. Slicing large meshes isn't intimidating!
