Panoramic Head / Pan-Tilt camera mount (heavy-duty)
pinshape
I shoot a lot of panorama shots and stitch photos together. A camera mount was needed to take source images without missing spots or having too little overlap for Photoshop stitching to work properly. Mosaic shots also require better lighting, making a camera mount essential anyway. So I designed and built one from stock components and 3D printed parts. The total cost of the parts is around $75, including motors and all electronics. However, this doesn't include the camera mount itself, which you should already have. If not, buy one on eBay for $15. The pan-tilt mechanism attaches to the mount, so choose a mount that can handle your camera's size and weight along with the add-on. I used a 20mm diameter "neck" mount, but if yours is different, only the clamps' center cutout needs to be changed. This project involves electronics and motor tinkering, so I added extra information at pantiltcameramount.com. This is still a work in progress, so feel free to leave comments and I'll include them in the next version.
