Panorama Magnet Rotator Sigma 8mm lens second version
thingiverse
New version stronger! Sketchup file included. 6 or 3 step panorama head makes 360 degree spherical shots with ease. Designed for a sigma 8mm lens, but works equally well with any other 8mm lens of the same diameter. Rotate it gently and it disengages smoothly by cantilevering the camera. A Manfroto plate is included for added versatility. You'll need 12 strong magnets (5x10 mm) and 2 x 30mm bold and nut, as well as a screw insert to fit from big to small at the bottom plate, which also fits onto a Manfroto plate if needed. First, clean the holes and try to fit all magnets in place. Leave them to dry with correct polarity (+/-). Then use the single-holed plate and attach it to the hexagonal gap using glue or a bolt. Clean up the edges and assemble the clamp grips on top of each other, applying force to slide them into position. Secure the lens with tape or a bike inner tube, then fit the clamp in place and screw your lens tight using the bold and nut. The nodal point is where the lens cap meets the notch. You're now ready to shoot! I use this setup in combination with my Canon 5DS, but other cameras will work just as well.
