Panic Attack Relief Tube
thingiverse
Hey guys so this is a device I've been working on to provide relief for panic attacks that's best carried on your person in such a way that you can access it easily at all times.\r\n\r\nSome people may struggle with the cap, which isn't threaded but twist and pull. The nubs holding it on are intentionally small and angled so that you can just tear the thing off if you really need to in an emergency situation.\r\n\r\nFor usage, orient the device so the vents on the top and bottom are vertical. The vent closer to the base should be on top, along with the arrow indicating the correct orientation. From there, simply breathe through the device by inhaling and exhaling until your attack subsides completely. If it feels like you aren't getting enough air, stop breathing through the device for a second and then continue.\r\n\r\nThe best grip is to hold the device like a whistle with your thumb and pointer finger in the side depressions and your palm behind the device.\r\n\r\nThe science behind this device combines the aspects of a fan and a brown paper bag. When you exhale, the vents blow air onto your face's cold receptors (nose and chin) to cool you down quickly. In addition, the air in tandem with your breath has a calming effect. As you continuously breathe through the device, the main chamber builds up CO2, which lowers your oxygen intake by a small amount. This tends to have a lethargy effect and hopefully reduces stimulation.
