The revamped Panelolu, dubbed as Panelolu2, is an upgraded version of the original Panelolu. It incorporates an I2C port expander that aids in driving the LCD screen and adds features such as a piezo buzzer and indication LEDs. This feature reduces the number of pins required, making it compatible with Mezli electronics and still leaving spare pins to control additional outputs. Panelolu2 offers versions suitable for Printrboard, RAMPS, Melzi, and Sanguinololu. Additionally, the case comes in two parts - front and back - with STL files available. A smaller knob for the rotary encoder is also included, based on a modified design by MiseryBot. The SCAD file includes an option to create legs that can be used as a stand. Adapter boards are utilized to ensure compatibility with various 3D printer control electronics; designs for Sanguinololu and Melzi are available, while others will be added if there is interest. It's also possible to attach standard connectors onto the ribbon cable for broader compatibility. Eagle files for these boards can be found on GitHub.
