Panasonic microwave door latch brace
thingiverse
I created this fixer to repair my Panasonic microwave door catch. It's a spacer that fits between the original door catch mechanism and the outside of the cooking compartment. It has notches to hold the ribs on the latch mechanism and hex pockets for M4 nuts. To install it: 1- Drill two original threaded holes in the latch mechanism to 4mm or slightly less so M4 bolts (two needed with a minimum length of 35mm) fit tightly. 2- Insert the spacer and the latch mechanism, making sure they're properly engaged together. 3- Bolt them together through the hole in the metal holding plate at the location giving the proper opening and closing behavior. 4- Bend the metal plate outward to create a temporary gap between the spacer and the outside of the cooking compartment. 5- Drop instant glue behind the spacer. 6- Press the unit back against the wall that now has glue and wait for it to set. 7- Check that the door catch now works properly (three microswitches to watch for). 8- If needed, adjust the position of the latch mechanism by loosening and retightening the M4 bolts. 9- Reassemble and enjoy for a few more years.
