Pan Tilt Head OT - Digital Bird Camera Motion Control
prusaprinters
This is the Digital Bird over the top Pan Tilt head part of the Digital Bird motion control system. This is one of two pan tilt heads I have designed for the system the other is a balanced head more appropriate for the mini jib. This head is more compact and is capable of looking straight down however it is not suitable for use on the jib since the balance of the jib is disturbed as the camera moves out. All parts of the system are WIFI linked and work together or independently to provide a comprehensive motion control system. The system has taken almost two years to develop and has come at some cost. Your support in purchasing the kits is much appreciated and ensures that the system will continue to be developed and supported.Features:360 deg of continues rotation in the pan axis and 180 deg in the Tilt axisCapable of lifting a Tilt payload up to 2KG with a 30:1 gearbox and 3KG with the 50:1 gearbox over the full 180 deg of travel more if travel is limited.Automated mount/dismount via two buttons on the control panelSony NP style batteries3rd axis support for Focus motor through RJ45 portFull feature interface though Digital Bird WIFI remoteOperating modes:A-B straight runA-B with acceleration controls (ramp/Ease)A-B-A Bounce modeTime-lapse mode with built in intervalometer and camera shutter control.Six key sequencer for more complex moves.Stop motion functions for animators.PTZplus real-time camera functions.System Links:Component Kits: https://digital-bird-motion-control.myshopify.comSoftware: https://github.com/digitalbird01/DigitalBird-Camera-SliderBalanced Pan Tilt Head: https://www.printables.com/model/326746-camera-pan-tilt-head-digital-birdDuel action Camera Slider: https://www.printables.com/model/326752-digital-bird-motorized-duel-action-camera-sliderSlider Vertical mounting base: https://www.printables.com/model/326747-vertical-camera-slider-tripod-baseFocus/ Zoom motor: https://www.printables.com/model/326749-focus-motor-digital-bird-motion-controlDigital Pan Head / Turntable: https://www.printables.com/model/326745-digital-bird-video-turntable-pan-headCompact WIFI controller: https://www.printables.com/model/326750-digital-bird-wifi-remoteDigital Bird Mini Jib: (coming soon)Print Settings Rafts: NoSupports: YesResolution: 0.2 layer heightInfill: 25-100Filament: Matt PLANotes:Most parts can be printed with just 25% infill however others need to be very strong. The following need special care. The bottom or base layer should be printed at least 35% fillThe GT2 gear parts, Pan wheel, Camera plate, Tilt motor mount, and Tilt arm cover should all be printed at 100% fill together with any very small parts and the Control plate. The tilt arm I print at 60% fillAll other parts are at your discretion I typically use 25% fillKeep it slow when printing the GT2 gear to ensure a clean tooth profile typically half the speed you use for the other parts.Common sense should prevails when it comes to which way up you print the parts. Generally the way that requires least supports! The camera Plate should be printed on its end as supplied here in order to give the best print quality. You do not have to add supports for any of the screw holes. Most of the parts use supports somewhere. The Control panel has been updated to accept the small OLED display used to monitor the current battery state and display the devices PTZ status.Bill of MaterialsI have provided the Kits in order to make this build as accessible as possible. To this end I strongly suggest you go with one of the kits. They are good value for money and will allow you to complete the build with confidence in less than a day.
