Pan Pursuing Syrinx at The Fine Arts Museum in Brussels, Belgium
myminifactory
This life-sized marble masterpiece tells a timeless story of Pan's all-consuming passion for Syrinx. Like Apollo and Daphne, the God of Nature and sensuality is smitten with the chaste nymph Syrinx. As Pan relentlessly pursues her, she flees to the riverbank and begs the water nymphs for help. In response, she's transformed into a cluster of hollow reeds that eerily whisper when Pan's frustrated breath blows across them. Seizing an opportunity, Pan cuts these reeds to craft the world's first pan pipes, which will forever be known as Syrinx. This object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by MyMiniFactory.
