Palm tamper for Pavoni & other 48mm portafilters

A tamper tailored to perfection for the La Pavoni manual piston espresso machine & other 48mm portafilter espresso machines. I've found that using a super firm tamp when preparing my espressos yields exceptional results, with me applying significant body weight directly onto the puck. This approach makes most traditional tampers ergonomically ill-suited, not to mention the instability caused by an upright handle. That's why I designed this palm tamper, engineered to be used with the open palm of the hand firmly grasping it, while passively leaning against its weight. Please note that this design diverges from other palm tampers on the market in one key aspect - it lacks an adjustable depth setting. This deliberate omission ensures seamless integration with a consistent level of grounds in the portafilter, rather than trying to accommodate varying ground levels. The stepped design serves solely as a precautionary measure to prevent any accidental instability, though this risk is minimal given its remarkably low profile. In practice, the recessed rim of this tamper should never come into contact with the portafilter basket's rim. For me, it's been a game-changer - I've finally found a tamper that mirrors my tamping technique perfectly.
