A pallet jack, also known as a pump truck or a pallet truck, is a powered industrial machine used to move heavy loads on pallets within warehouses and distribution centers. It consists of a metal frame with a hydraulic lift mechanism that lifts and lowers the pallet, allowing it to be easily moved short distances by an operator who steers it using a handle or tiller arm. Pallet jacks are particularly useful in tight spaces where larger equipment cannot fit.
