Palette 2 MMU 3 Color Dragon Egg
thingiverse
My kid designed the dragon's egg in Fusion 360, and I brought it to life. She envisioned a white exterior with a vibrant green inner shell, while two distinct black marks signify the type of dragon. To enhance its appearance, I added two cracks in the outer layer that showcase the green beneath. I printed this intricate design on my Palette 2 combined with a Prusa Mk2s, incorporating my own custom filament clip design. The print is complex due to the combination of green and black transitioning into white, resulting in noticeable bleed. This test case helps evaluate transition length and density. Initially, I set my transition length to 80, which was short of the recommended 120-130. Despite this, the first print turned out well but required a significant number of splices. I created a simplified shell-only model with a cut base to allow it to stand upright. If you'd like a solid print, I'm happy to upload an updated version upon request. Good luck with your own creations!
