The Palazzo Nuovo is one of Rome's three iconic public buildings that comprise the majestic ensemble of the Capitoline Square. A masterplan for the square's three palaces was conceived by Michelangelo in the mid-16th century, showcasing his unparalleled vision and skill as a designer. As per Michelangelo's original design, the New Palace is intended to mirror perfectly the face of the Conservator's Square, its symmetrical counterpart located on the opposite side.
