Palacio de Tribunales // Córdoba // Argentina
sketchfab
The majestic Palace of Tribunals is a work of an epochal time in Argentina's history. Its style mirrors the European architecture driven by the conservative governments of Julio Argentino Roca and Ramón J. Cárcano. Completed in 1937, with neoclassical architectural design, it displays on its front the balance symbolizing justice. The Hall of Lost Steps represents, through each carved figure, themes that make up history, beliefs, and absolute values like freedom and justice. Declared a national historic monument on September 5, 1986, designed by architects José Hortal and Salvador Godoy, inaugurated on February 11, 1936, by then Governor Pedro J. Frías. In the Hall of Lost Steps stands a mausoleum, in which lie the mortal remains of Dalmacio Vélez Sarsfield, a Cordovan jurist, author of civil and commercial codes.
