Pair of Bird Wings 3DS Max Low-poly 3D model
cgtrader
This model showcases a pair of bird/angel wings with an efficient rigging system, animation, textures, and materials. Easily modify the wing's appearance by editing its feathers' morph targets. Created using 3ds Max 2010, it can be animated effortlessly with standard tools within 3ds Max. However, only 3ds Max files support IK and animations; FBX, OBJ, and other formats contain the static model only. Consisting of 182 separate objects (276 including rigging, control, lights, etc.), each feather is an individual object, except for small body feathers. With TurboSmooth off, the model has approximately 60,000 polygons; each feather contains 36 polygons, while very small wing-covering feathers have around 12,000 polygons, and the wings' body has 524 polygons. Enabling TurboSmooth (at 1 iteration) increases the polygon count to about 240,000. The model primarily features quads and some tris. It uses only Standard materials. Two 3ds Max files are included: default scanline and finalRender versions (separate downloads), with the latter providing better lighting. The model has five materials: one for the wing body and four for wing feathers, with the latter being identical but helpful for grouping. Digital painting created these materials. Textures include WingBody (inside very small feathers) with BirdWingsColor.jpg (1024x1024), BirdWingsSpec.jpg (1024x1024), BirdWingsBump.jpg (1024x1024), and BirdWingsAlpha.jpg (512x512). Feathers have three textures: FeatherColor.jpg (2048x2048), FeatherBumpSpec.jpg (2048x2048), and FeatherAlpha.jpg (2048x2048). Additionally, FeatherAlpha2.jpg (2048x2048) and FeatherAlpha3.jpg (2048x2048) are optional for further customization. Included animations are Wings Flapping (135 frames), Wings Closing (35 frames), and Rig Test (260 frames).
