Painting Jig for CD-R pancake case

Painting Jig for CD-R pancake case

thingiverse

This is a painting jig I designed to be used for miniature painting. It features an integrated, beveled hole in the handle that allows you to use it with a CD-R/DVD-R pancake spool. If you don't have or want to use a large CD pancake box like the one shown, you can print the small printable stand. The jig incorporates a flat side in the handle that assists in indexing the mini in your hand. The jig planchet surface has a star pattern on it, which allows blue-tack to get additional grip on the jig. If you print on glass or PEI, you may find this helps it stick down. Included are four handle sizes: 25mm, 30mm, 35mm, and 40mm, with a 30mm planchet that is slightly oversized to allow for easy sticking. There's also one 60mm planchet in the 40mm handle size, perfect for painting those "We're fighting THAT?!!?!?" figures. Additionally, I've included a 100mm planchet in the 40mm handle size, ideal for painting TPK figures - you know you want to! Feedback is welcome, and this jig can also be used with a stand for photography. Special thanks go out to Table Top Minions, Black Magic Craft, and Miniac for their inspiration. Check out Table Top Minions on YouTube, or watch "HOW TO PAINT MINIATURES THE EASY WAY" by Black Magic Craft at the 3:47 mark.
