Update 28/03/20 Several bug fixes in the PaintCam and I added a video how to use the PaintCam with your 3D printer to make a little painting on your phone case: https://youtu.be/hRpdHZ4vp4o Update 23/02/20 Updated software with several features like minimum pixel count per color and direct brush movement (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAW6gqVzHLk (brush stroke)) Here is a timelapse of one of the pictures I did lately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ErUQQdR1Xk (leaf timelapse) And a more recent timelapse of an abstract Darth Vader version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvtQ8a0pDck (Vader timelapse) And the Baby Yoda from the Mandalorian show: https://youtu.be/ilO48pf5Dj8 (Baby Yoda timelapse) More information on https://vialps.com/project-blog/ Over the last couple of months I wrote a program that converts regular pictures into gCode so you can paint them with your printer or CNC. I tested it with my printer and then built a bigger machine to make larger paintings. If you're interested in this, you can find more on that on my website vialps.com. I printed a paintbrush holder for my i3 clone but the type of printer doesn't matter and how you attach the brush to the printhead is up to you. I included a settings file in the zip file which I tested on my Prusa i3 clone and my Ender 3 and it worked fine. The screenshots should explain how to load it and what adjustments need to be made. To hold the color just print a little pot (I include the file for the small one I used in the tests) or use something you have sitting around. I usually use acrylic paint which works best on canvas. You can find more information about the project on my website. If anything is not working or you need help with the settings, let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing some paintings!
