Paintbrush Storage Boxes
thingiverse
I recently became an adult and bought a set of 'decent' paintbrushes that I intend to wash and keep (rather than the cheap throwaway ones). I wanted to ensure I could store them safely without risk of mis-shaping the bristles. These boxes are designed to fit the Prodec set you can buy from Toolstation in the UK. I have included supported files that are suitable for resin printing. I have also included the FreeCad file that you can use to customise to your own brushes (sorry - have not got to grips with proper parametric modelling). Each file is one half of a symmetric box - print two of them and fit together using a 2mm diameter rod in the hinge (I used a nail cut down to the right length with pliers. If the hole is a little oversized just dap some superglue on the nail head. The locking mechanism is not perfect and you may need an elastic band to keep it closed, but it does the job. You may also want to put some sticky backed foam in them to create a tighter fit. Note: these are not airtight and not for storing 'wet' brushes between painting sessions.
With this file you will be able to print Paintbrush Storage Boxes with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Paintbrush Storage Boxes.
