Mid XIXth-century painting on wooden support measures 6 x 3.5 cm. Documenting surface deterioration requires meticulous macro-photogrammetry techniques. A total of 222 images were captured to ensure accuracy. RAW files provide maximum detail, while occasional focus staking was necessary to achieve optimal results. The Nikon D810 camera with a 60 mm lens and 68 mm extension rings provides 2x optical magnification.
