Paint Shaker Ball Bearing Alternative (Mixing)
thingiverse
I required some metal orbs to insert into small containers of acrylic craft paint to blend them effectively. Most hues are acceptable, yet metallics prove challenging to mix. I needed roughly 7-8mm spherical bearings but only had 4.5mm metal spheres (utilized in BB or air guns in the USA). Consequently, I crafted this holder with a design intended to make it traverse somewhat unpredictable paths. It accommodates three 4.5mm balls and comprises both male and female components. Apply some super glue or an analogous adhesive to secure the two halves together after inserting the balls. While this approach appears functional, I also experimented by gluing four metal spheres in a pyramidal formation. Super glue performed adequately for this purpose but epoxy would likely excel and provide a simpler solution without expending plastic resources.
