Painful ? overhang

Painful ? overhang

thingiverse

The original text was inspired by thing:1169 "test overhang flat.stl". The author is currently tuning their new Ultimaker and wanted to test various overhangs without using a lot of plastic. They edited the original model and checked it in Netfabb, then printed and uploaded photos of 35/30 and 30/25 degree overhangs at layer heights of 0.05 and 0.045 respectively. The 20/15 degree overhang is also complete but has not yet been photographed. Unfortunately, the author chose an older version of the file to print, resulting in wasted plastic. Future plans include producing models with rounded corners for use with new Marlin firmware, aiming to maintain head speed without making overhangs artificially easy to print. The author encourages others to pick their angles, experiment, and enjoy the process!
