Nagato was a skilled shinobi from Amegakure and a member of the Uzumaki clan. Alongside his friends and fellow orphans Yahiko and Konan, he founded the Akatsuki with a shared goal: bringing peace to the chaotic ninja world. However, following Yahiko's tragic death, Nagato adopted a new identity as Pain and joined forces with Konan to establish a reinvigorated Akatsuki that would use whatever means necessary to impose peace upon the globe.
