The Ai Wan Ting Pagoda in Hunan's Changsha city stands just a short trek from my family roots in the nearby town, nestled beside a prestigious university where my grandparents once held esteemed professorships. This iconic landmark is also notable for being one of Chairman Mao's preferred study spots during his student years, a place he would often visit to reflect and contemplate.
