Pagoda 2 antenna protection
thingiverse
I'm currently working on a more robust version of the pagoda 5.8GHz FPV antenna, designed for crash-prone users like myself. To create this enhanced design, I've taken inspiration from a few existing models, including one found here: http://www.maartenbaert.be/quadcopters/antennas/pagoda-antenna/. However, my goal was to devise an even more durable version than the ones available on Thingiverse, such as this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2134929. I also wanted to address a design aspect that didn't appeal to me in another version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2278861. As for my custom antenna's dimensions, they differ slightly from the original due to a discrepancy in the distance between the bottom disks (10.2 mm vs 10.45 mm). To rectify this, I had to incorporate these changes into my design. Assembly is straightforward; simply arrange all parts and secure them together using two rings of thermo-shrinking tube. For printing, I utilized modified PET, which is reportedly more shock-resistant than PLA or ABS. However, feel free to use either material based on your preference.
