This Kickstarter project (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mikestemple/peek-a-smarter-phone-case) backed Peek case has led me to ponder ways of enhancing time lapse sessions' duration via a booster battery and improving phone grip while traveling. The Peek shim, designed for Pacsafe Coversafe 75, raises the phone camera above the pouch and accommodates a lightning-to-microUSB adapter for charging using a booster battery such as Anker® Astro Slim2 4500mAh Ultra-Slim Portable External Battery (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CTK762E). However, be aware that the battery's charging logic can be quirky; it starts charging when it detects a load on its microUSB cable. Since the lighting-microUSB adapter is an active device, it may not initially charge your iPhone. To rectify this, slightly disconnect and reconnect the micro-USB cable from the lightning adapter to trigger the battery's logic and start charging your iPhone. The Peek shim design file is available for download in ipt format for modification purposes.
