Packout Shelf Bracket Mount or Mounting Hardpoint
thingiverse
NOTE: This is printed, as oriented in STL, without supports This is a mount for fastening shelf brackets, or other accessories, on the aluminum supports on the sides of Packout toolboxes. To mount shelf brackets, you need to print four of these mounts. The first stl has a hole for a ¼" screw or bolt and, on the backside, a recess for inserting an EZ-Lok ¼"-20 insert (TH-420-SV) or similar. Placing the insert in the back is a bit more trouble but results in a sturdier bracket. After installing the insert, you may need to clear a bit of melted plastic from the screw tunnel. To do this, I recommend holding the bracket in a vise and running a 3/16” drill bit through from the insert side, then flipping and touching up with a ¼” bit on the screw tunnel side. It is a tight fit and I did not add a hole for a set screw to the aluminum extrusion as my application did not require one. Drilling one, or editing one into the stl file is an easy task. There are two more stl included. One is designed for front ¼"-20 insert placement. The other stl file is simply a test file. Merely a thin slice of the bracket that you can use to test fit on your Packouts aluminum corner support, or as a template create your own bracket by expanding on the Z-axis to whatever height suits you and putting in whatever screw hole size you wish to use.
