Packard V-1650-7 Merlin Cylinder Casting
grabcad
This is a model of the casting for the 621235: BLOCK CYLINDER for the V-1650-7, which is the version used in the P-51 Mustang. It is the complete casting, without any machining. In modern engines this would be part of the engine block. Modeled and rendered in SolidWorks 2020, I am including IGES, STEP, and STL files.During World War II Packard Motor Cars received a license from the British luxury car manufacturer (who I cannot name because if I do Grabcad will shadowban my models with no explanation) to manufacture it's famed V-12 known as the Merlin 66 in America for use in US warplanes. The result was the Packard V-1650, one of the most well known and most popular aircraft engines used in US aircraft (which isn't to say the Merlin wasn't equally famous).
