The SolidWorks project aimed to prevent multiple NURBS in STEP files by initially creating an unfinished billet with all lobes cut. Subsequently, a full version including a 7/8 BSF threaded nose was designed. After successfully printing a subscale of the first model, a hold-thread version was created as the threaded portion couldn't be printed at the 3D print supplier. This version, including the holes and rear drive flange, was printed without issue and arrived on December 29th, 2017.
