Is it a social commentary on escapism or a funny functional print? Kind of a silly project, this takes the electronics from a small $20 vape (a “Hippie Nano +”) and just repackages it into a working pacifier-shaped case. A size 6 pacifier nipple will fit over most .5ml 510 cartridges of THC, CBD, or any vape juice. You make a hole in the tip of the silicone nipple, using a 2mm leather punch or scissors and patience. The metal contact has a magnetic adapter that holds the cartridges in place. No screws required, but a soldering iron, wire strippers, and heat shrink make it much easier to move the magnetic base from the original vape into the pacifier shield. I'd recommend printing in PETG so the case retaining clip isn't too brittle. The shield prints flat so that it gets a smooth surface finish, but there's a rounded buck that you can bend it over after heating it on your print bed, a cup of boiling water, or a heat gun. There are a few things to improve: The cartridge isn't rotationally constrained, so the whole nipple can rotate around with a little force. Having the whole thing magnetically coupled easily removable makes it very easy to clean / swap, but the nipple isn't super secure. For aesthetics, the microUSB port isn't exposed through the back of the shield, so you do have to open the case to charge. If you want to tackle any of these things, the Fusion 360 .f3d file is included for easy editing. Otherwise, the single control button / LED function normally. If you build it, be gentle with the lithium battery when closing everything up, and electrically insulate any soldered joints.
