Pac-Man enthusiasts will appreciate this small, one-piece fun print that boasts a mouth that opens wide, closes tight shut, and everything in between. The design is reminiscent of the classic arcade character's signature feature. Two STL files have been provided: one for a "just for fun" model and another that includes a key fob fitting in a practical location for reliable printing. A larger, more practical version of this design is available on Thingiverse as Pac-Man Containers (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1754407). This file features internally moving drawers that store small items like mints or sweets. This print should be easy to produce with PLA using a good slicing app and an accurate machine with a filament fan. The fine detail, clearances, and extreme angles require precise printing to work well. When printed correctly, the result is a fun little item that amazes people. To ensure proper printing, the design must be face down on the build plate as indicated in the provided STL files. Adequate clearances have been applied to accommodate most machines, allowing the mouth to move freely off the build plate once the raft is removed. Avoid using automated support, as it will permanently fuse the parts together. A raft with a 4-5mm outset may be necessary for good build plate adhesion through minimal contact areas. If the parts stick and refuse to move post-printing, apply gentle pressure to free them up. Check for excess filament in the mouth area that might cause the parts to fuse slightly. Three-dimensional prints with moving parts often experience rough or imperfect surfaces when they come into contact with each other. To make the mouth parts rotate smoothly and quickly, a quick spray of silicone spray is recommended (refer to images).
