P3Steel Z Axis Smooth Rod Hold Down
thingiverse
I designed the hold downs for my P3Steel Prusa i3 to securely fasten the smooth rods in place. The z-axis lift is prevented by the rods being held firmly down, ensuring a level printing surface. To achieve this, I employed two screws - one existing on the frame and another M3 screw added to push down on the rod. A recessed area under each hold down accommodates an M3 nut for additional stability. I took the extra step of designing and printing a matching left side holder, ensuring symmetry in my setup. My print settings are optimized for precision: Formlabs Form 1 printer, no rafts, supports enabled, and a resolution of .2mm for high-quality prints.
