I needed new idler pulleys for my 3D printer since the old ones were worn out. The replacement parts I got had Ø5mm bearings and were slightly wider than what Toolson's idler was designed to fit. To make them work, I decided to modify the design. First, I widened the pulley receptacle so it could accommodate approximately 10mm wide pulleys. This change allowed me to use the new bearings without any issues. Next, I created recesses that were about 2mm deep for the nut and screw. Using a M5 x 20mm screw made it easier to assemble everything properly. Additionally, I added a connection between the base and the support structures in the back of the idler. This improved their adhesion to the bed, ensuring they stayed in place during printing. If you think this remix deserves some recognition, please leave a like!
