Irobri's P3Steel v2.01 redesigned by Paciente8159 (v2.2) This is a redesign of Irobri's near-perfect P3Steel 3mm steel laser-cut v2.01 3D printer, which I actually own and love, with some changes reflecting the things I'd like to see in mine. The design also takes into account the Diamond Head hot end. As this is still a work in progress, future updates may occur. For now, here are the main changes: 17-03-2016 Update Mounting holes for RAMPS have been added to allow vertical installation. The base version has been modified with larger holes for the main frame, similar to v4 of the P3Steel frame, to reduce weight and lower production costs (fewer cuts). Z stepper cables now have slightly enlarged holes. Clearance has been added in the main frame cut to accommodate the Y axis belt holder. Up to three Bowden extruders can be installed with the new cuts in the main frame for cold ends. Longer side cuts have been made to fit different power supplies. The diameter of the Z axis smooth rod holes has been reduced to prevent loose linear rails. The Y axis idler piece now uses a F604ZZ bearing and has re-centered holes, allowing perfect alignment of the Y belt. Several cuts on the triangular side and front and back plates have been simplified and removed to reduce production costs. A support structure has been added, accommodating three spools of filament with an M8 threaded rod and printed spool holders designed around common 608ZZ bearings (skate bearings). Screw inserts have been removed between the main frame and side triangles to prevent unwanted hits. These are the main changes so far. Future updates may follow.
