I'm making adjustments to the existing design. I've added a "no bearings" version spindle that works seamlessly with other parts on this page. To assemble it, simply tighten the threaded end part securely, ensuring the entire unit rotates as one cohesive piece within the printer frame. This revised design performs better than the ball bearing version, which spins too freely and causes filament to fall off the reel and jam. For use on P3Steel, I've remixed this spindle to utilize a 5/16-18 by 5 1/4" or M8 by 130mm bolt (download compatible end parts). Standard skateboard wheel ball bearings are used in this design, featuring an 8mm ID, 22mm OD, and 7mm width. The spool spindle length has been optimized for Hatchbox and eSun filament spools, which accommodate PLA, ABS, PETG, and TPU materials.
