P3 steel Y bed belt tensioner and y bed belt mount are designed to work together seamlessly. The tensioner is built to accommodate various belt types, but the y bed mount is specifically engineered for the 1.75mm thick GT2 belt with a steel cording that requires high belt tension. This system must be able to handle those heavy loads. The belt tensioner is made in two pieces to reduce tensile stress on print layers, which are weak in this direction. Note the spacers used at each end of the 5mm diameter by 22mm long axle shaft. Three housing screws are M3x25, and two tensioning screws are either M3x25 or M3x30 with standard M3 nuts inserted. Each tensioner and y idler mount, including this P3 steel part, is not aligned to the y motor centerline, but this design is centered with the motor, so the belt runs parallel to the y bed and is evenly spaced over its entire length. A 20-tooth GT2 pulley is used with internal 5mm ID ball bearings. The y bed belt mount is designed for use with thick 1.75mm GT2 steel corded belting on 20-tooth pulleys. For standard P3 steel, a 15mm spacing will be required; this part screws to the open beam 15mm stock I have on my extended bed. This belt holder incorporates a belt damper shoe to reduce vibration in the lower return portion of the belt.
