WHY ==================== Designed to improve p3 Steel X carrige. original one looks bulky to me. center of gravitiy is not good enough to improve stability. belt holder was not comfortable. HOW ==================== main plate has pockets to hold lm8uu's, it can be cut 2.5mm sheet metal. but some weight reduction advised. that pockets helps to keep weight closer to 8mm rails. that helps to reduce lever effect on those rails. this design uses mk8 extruder. mk8 extruder's heaviest part is nema 17 motor. i kept nema 17 closer to rails to reduce lever effect to rails. extruder-holder fits nicely nema 17 from sides. it is important because it has only x axis movement. OTHER FEATURES ---------------------------- - nema 17 snaps in place - every zip tie has own route to prevent slips - main plate can be created from sheet metal with laser cut (min 2.5 mm) - easy to print Parts needed for assembly ---------------------------- - 4x LM8UU - 8x 10 cm zip tie (max 2.8 mm wide) - 2x 20 cm zip tie (max 2.8 mm wide) - 3x 20 mm M3 Flat Head Screw - 3x M3 Nut Assembly --------------- - put LM8UU's on pockets near together. use 10cm zip ties to fix them in place - put extruder holder to front of main plate and put belt holder to back of main plate, then put m3 screws through from extruder holder to main plate then belt holder - put m3 nuts on screws - nema 17 from mk8 snaps in extruder holder. keep wiring on top - put 20 cm zip ties around nema 17 through canals on extruder holder. dont squeeze too hard, it must be little loose to compansate accidental hits on plate. development in progess. i'm developing z carrige with some fundemantal improvements too.
