I've always craved a top-notch battery mount frame that could seamlessly house a Runcam Split and deliver rock-solid video. So, I came up with this design, utilizing two suspension bands that securely hold the camera between four points. The camera remains stable and in place at all times, but can move slightly during a crash, effectively damping most of the force on the sensor. To achieve maximum stability while keeping it lightweight, I aimed to create a strong yet minimalist frame. If printed with Matterhackers NylonX, this design yields an impressive 25g for the camera mount alone and a total weight of 205g. The FC (Flight Controller) and 4in1 ESC are precisely spaced at 20mm, while the Split is a spacious 30mm in size. To accommodate various electronics configurations, I've set the height limit to a generous 15mm. Here's a rundown of my chosen components: * Flight Controller: FLIP 32 - F4 - OMNIBUS NANO V2 * ESC (Electronic Speed Controller): 10A Colony ESC (20x20) BLHELI_S * Video Transmitter (VTX): TBS Unify pro HV * Camera: Runcam Split V2 * Radio Receiver (RX): FrSky XM+ * Motors: Emax RS1106 7500kv * Propellers: Gemfan 2540 * Battery: Turnigy 700mah Specialty parts required for this build include: * Four 15mm x M3 standoffs * Eight 2.5mm x M2 screws (I used extra Runcam mount screws, cut down to size) Please note that the ESC I've chosen has an offset plug, and the FC features a center-mounted plug. To avoid wire damage, it's essential to select components that can sit extremely close together without compromising on space. If you're using an upside-down ESC, there's a carefully designed cutout in the frame for the plug to drop down into. However, depending on your VTX selection, there might not be enough room to fit everything comfortably. To ensure optimal camera stability, it's crucial that the camera mounts are printed with a soft TPU material.
