P.S. Rebate (Rabbet) Plane - customizable
pinshape
Summary This is an adjustable rebate plane that uses a standard chisel as its cutting iron and can cut a slot along the edge of a board. The design is based on Paul Sellers' handmade wooden rebate plane, which you can find instructions for on his YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTuOtmlRhAI Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.30mm Infill: 27% Notes: 3 shells These print settings are a fair compromise between speed, plastic usage, and strength. Custom Section Conclusion Designing and making this rebate plane was enjoyable, but it took hours to print and used too much plastic. Making one out of wood, like Paul Sellers does, would be a better approach. TODO There are still issues with this design, mainly that the width of the chisel+wedge gap is too small to fit anything in.
