My girlfriend took charge of designing the heat shielding for NASA's latest Mars rover, which recently blasted off into space. The "Curiosity" mission embarked on its journey perched atop an Atlas V launch system, so I chose that theme as inspiration for this week's earring design. Space rockets, being complex volumes of revolution, can be easily replicated and modeled with precision. To enhance printability, I tweaked the scale lines slightly to achieve a better fit.
