The P-51D Mustang is one of WW2's most iconic and recognizable aircraft. Initially powered by an Alison engine, it later featured a Rolls-Royce Merlin supercharged engine. First used by the RAF in May 1942 for ground attack and patrol duties, the USAAF adopted it in June 1942. Undergoing various adaptations, such as becoming a dive-bomber (A-36 Apache/Invader) with quad 20mm cannons and a range of canopy types, the P-51 served almost all Allied forces during WW2. Post-war, it continued service in Korea and some air forces until the '80s. Here, I've modeled the P-51D variant, which functioned as a long-range fighter/bomber escort from mid-1944 onwards. The model includes conforming, poseable external fuel tanks and a prop blur for added motion. All parts are accessible in the scene tree.
