The Mustang model, designed for Discovery Channel's "Showdown Air Combat," boasts near-scale construction with intricate texturing. It features a detailed representation of the cockpit, engine, cowlings, engine mounts, seat, and radio equipment. The cockpit includes various controls, instrument panels, cranks, and switches, all modeled in precise detail. Animation is possible for many components, including ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevators, main and tail landing gear, doors, and the cockpit canopy. Propellers are also animated. A later upgrade enhanced several modeled parts, improved wing textures, and refined the cockpit with additional details such as the engine, oil reservoir, mounting arms, intake duct, fuel lines, and spark plugs. The cowling panels on either side can be removed to reveal the engine, just like in a real Mustang. Landing gear features have been added, along with spar, wing fuel tank, rear fuel tank in the fuselage behind the seat, and a modeled fuselage fuel tank. A well-crafted set of electrical equipment and radios are included behind the pilot's seat, further enhancing the model's authenticity.
