The Mustang model, designed for Discovery Channel's "Showdown Air Combat," features near-scale construction with detailed textures. It includes a fully modeled cockpit, engine, cowlings, engine mounts, seat, and radio equipment. The cockpit contains animated controls, instrument panels, and various switches. Animated features include ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevators, main and tail landing gear, doors, and the canopy-opening cockpit. Propellers are also animated. Later upgrades replaced several modeled parts, enhanced wing textures, and added intricate details to the rebuilt cockpit, including engine, oil reservoir, mounting arms, intake duct, fuel lines, and spark plugs. Removable cowling panels reveal the engine, mimicking real-life maintenance views. Landing gear features, spar, wing fuel tank, rear fuselage fuel tank, and a set of electrical equipment and radios behind the pilot's seat are also modeled.
