The Mustang model, designed for Discovery Channel's "Showdown Air Combat," boasts near-scale construction with intricate texturing. It features detailed components such as cockpit, engine, cowlings, engine mounts, seat, and radio equipment. The cockpit includes controls, instrument panels, cranks, and switches that are all modeled. Many elements can be animated, including ailerons, flaps, rudder, elevators, landing gear, doors, and the cockpit canopy. Propellers also move realistically. A later upgrade enhanced various parts, improved wing textures, and refined the cockpit with added details, such as engine, oil reservoir, mounting arms, intake ducts, fuel lines, and spark plugs. Removable cowling panels reveal the engine for a realistic maintenance view. Landing gear features, spar, and wing fuel tanks are included, along with a rear fuselage fuel tank and a meticulously modeled set of electrical equipment and radios in the cockpit.
