In the UK, a search for imperial-sized pipe ended in failure, forcing a trip to Wilko's metal roller painting extension and the use of masking tape to convert it to imperial diameter. A chop saw was used to remove the end stop and 10cm from the end of the metal tube. The tube was then sanded lightly to allow spray paint to bond. Grey undercoat spray paint from a pound shop was used to paint the tube. Without a "dolls head" as suggested by the original, an end piece was created and printed in glow-in-the-dark PLA. Other parts were printed in gold and gray PLA on a Printrbot printer. The finger guard had to be broken up before being glued back together to fit within the bed size of the Printrbot. Grooves were chiselled from the end of the roller tube before painting.
