Ozone Sterilizer
thingiverse
I bought parts a while back to build an ozone generator to eliminate laser-cutting odors from the garage, but it turned out to be too powerful for that purpose and I didn't bother housing it. Recently, I read about how effective ozone is against viruses, so I assembled this unit to disinfect packages and groceries before bringing them into the house due to COVID. Now we place items we want disinfected in the garage with a fan running, run the ozone generator for 5 minutes, then let everything sit for an hour until the ozone dissipates (and hopefully the viruses too). UPDATE: I've been putting items in a large bag and filling it with ozone instead of ventilating the room. The ozone generator is a standard Chinese model from AliExpress (search for "ozone generator"). The fan used is a cheap $10 120V muffin fan. Controlling them is a timer from a toaster oven, which is crucial because you don't want to enter a room filled with ozone. There are holes at the bottom for M3 bolts for rubber feet and the ozone generator. The timer came from my junk pile, so you'll likely need to modify the bolt pattern for whatever timer you're using.
