Oxygen Airhose Clip
thingiverse
These clips attach securely to a hat, headband or wig, expertly elevating nasal cannulas above ear level, preventing abrasion and ulceration from occurring. Patients undergoing respiratory therapy often receive oxygen through thin flexible tubing connected to a small device inserted into the nostrils. However, this setup can cause sores on the ears due to prolonged exposure, leading to irritation and discomfort in mild cases and potentially serious infections in extreme scenarios. Developed for a family member who struggled with painful skin ulcers caused by his oxygen lines, these clips provided immediate relief, enabling his skin to heal quickly and comfortably. The versatile design accommodates various caps, hats, fabric or elastic headbands, and even wigs. Though we lost Oscar on September 1, 2017, his memory inspires us to share this innovative solution with others in need. If you know someone suffering from ear discomfort due to oxygen lines, consider printing a pair of airhose clips for their relief. Four designs are available: D is our top choice due to its flat profile and secure hold, even when lying down sideways. Versions A, B, and C offer similar functionality with distinct styles, as showcased in the photograph.
