oxygen adapter for universal connector
thingiverse
My grandmother has an adapter hose that measures 1 foot long and is designed to connect a Medline supersoft adult nasal cannula (part number HCSU4514S) to a standard oxygen hose. Instead of using the regular press-fit plastic adapters, which still work with this hose if you use the extender one, it uses a threaded 14mm connector. To make a long story short, her 1-foot adapter hose that joined to a standard hose became old and was no longer available. I decided to create a model of it. The printed result fit perfectly. I highly recommend printing with an infill percentage greater than 50%, possibly even 100%, so the pores in the plastic do not leak oxygen. Any connectors with threaded designs like this one will inevitably leak some air due to poor manufacturer design, in my opinion. It's best to use a tube extender made of plastic and simply push it into place for an air-tight seal. However, if you don't plan to use high oxygen levels, this adapter works as well.
