Oxfordshire Narrow Gauge railway Modellers - Grainge and Hodder baseboard supports
thingiverse
The Oxfordshire Narrow Gauge Model Railway group use Grainge and Hodder modular baseboards, and these are great but it is difficult for connected rows of them to sit flat on a row of GoPak metal edged folding tables, which are the type that we are given at most exhibitions. To fix this we printed U shaped supports that go under the edges of the board, raising them up 1cm, above the metal lip on the table. There are two types included here: "Ply Sides": These "U" shaped supports fit under the edge of the normal plywood G&H boards, and have holes both sides so that fixing screws can pass straight through, or you can use 3mm bolts. "Solid base": Some boards are custom built so needed a L shaped support that gave the same height lift. We decided to fit 4 supports per module, each spaced 10cm from the end, bit they can go anywhere. NOTE: Our original batch was printed in PLA and worked well, but one member left his modules in the conservatory for a few weeks during the summer and and the supports warped, so in future we will only be using PET-G.
