I'm excited to share my approach to designing a magnetic connector (inspired by Magsafe) that can be used on any device. This setup has proven reliable, handling several amps - in fact, I've been using two of these connectors with 3-4A@19V for months now without experiencing the slightest heating or issue. The design features built-in protection against incorrect connection orientation thanks to magnetic polarity and mechanical protrusion that prevents short-circuiting.
