The "Owl Ring" is a remarkably simple and affordable design, priced at under 10 €. This device empowers visually impaired individuals to detect obstacles with ease, making it an essential tool that complements traditional canes. The ring provides vital information through vibration, courtesy of an ingenious system situated directly near the finger. Two adaptable functions are offered thanks to the attached Arduino code: - Distance detector (short click): A long vibration indicates one meter, while a short vibration signals ten centimeters (for example, 2 meters and 30 centimeters elicits a pattern of vibrations). - Proximity detector: The vibrations accelerate as the obstacle approaches, mimicking the effect of a car radar. Why an owl? It is only natural to choose this nocturnal creature, renowned for its exceptional ability to navigate in darkness. Moreover, the sensor design lends itself perfectly to this concept, thanks to its two prominent "eyes." Why a ring? The technology is compact enough to be worn on the finger, and the design allows for activation with one hand. The "Owl Ring" can also be used in handicap awareness games played blindfolded. Hardware requirements include: Arduino Nano ultrasonic sensor hc-sr04 vibrator push button 4 mm resistance 82 Ohm Code attached via download link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1obUwCXOsqD53lT9_akYbieHVWJkCZ4O-
