Here is a set of drink coasters with an owl logo. The owl itself is a skilled nighthunter, boasting exceptional eyesight. The image on the coaster features this owl in a more charming and endearing way. Two versions are available for download: one negative and one positive design. When printing these coasters, it's recommended to examine the positive version carefully before deciding if your cup or glass will tip over. This is because the positive design allows drinks to be held at an angle, which may cause instability. The negative coaster, on the other hand, works perfectly fine. I haven't printed these models yet, but I have previewed them in my slicer and found no issues with detail. It's highly advised to do this before starting your print. Feel free to print these coasters using a single or multiple color scheme, filament, or resin. We'd love to see what you've created! Use this coaster to hold your favorite drink. The standard size of the coaster is 100 by 100 by 5 mm, making it compatible with my coaster holder (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3130397). Design Process: I found a logo in my browser and converted it into SVG format using Inkscape. I then imported this file into Blender, where I transformed the logo into a 3D object. Next, I used Meshmixer to repair the file and remove unnecessary features. I also added a coaster to the model and merged it with the logo after scaling it up. For the negative design, I used 123Design to subtract the coaster from the original model, saving it as an STL file and slicing it for printing. However, the model still had some issues despite repairing it in Meshmixer. To fix this, I exported it into Netfabb Online Service, a tool I discovered after using MakePrintable. MakePrintable only offers three procedures to repair STL files, whereas Netfabb Online Service provides an unlimited number of fixes. This made my choice clear, and the model sliced perfectly without any problems.
